I have no idea why I called seating charts the ugly step child of wedding planning, maybe because it can be one of the most grueling tasks a bride has to do. You end up having conversations like: “Where are we putting Sally?  No one likes her…why’d we have to invite her again? Oh yeah, she’s your aunt, $h!t.”   Many brides and grooms opt out of seating charts, and I can’t really blame them; if you can avoid it I’d truly consider never making one. That is why I really had no intention of writing about seating charts, but I was asked to go “a-hunting” by a great Facebook Fan named Kristin, who wants some creative ideas.  So here are 10 images (which are not my own) that proved seating charts could be fun and creative!

1.This one is crazy colorful, and I really don’t understand the naming of the tables, but anyone could do this, and maybe name the tables according to your theme…like movies, or candy, flowers etc

I want to start off by saying none of these images are mine…I told you from the beginning I’m a hunter/gather (my new paleo diet is affecting my analogies) type of blogger. I find it and share/eat it. With that being said…let’s take a looksey on what my PUNK ROCK WEDDING would look like!

It starts off with him…he obviously has to propose to me, knowing me so well and how at the time of this blog post, knows I’m completely a rocker chick now, so he gives me a stunningly unique ring that looks much like this:

From there I give him an engagement ring because we’re a progressive couple, why should I be the only one that wears a ring?

We’re super excited, and I work diligently on figuring out how I want the wedding invites to look which end up spectacular and really capture what I’m trying to go for:

Meantime I’ve picked my dress:

And my bridesmaids dress..oh there are  two pictures because the back is to die for…I will get the pinks to match!

Okay now it’s time to pick the cake design and of course I’ll need some cookies because I secretly (or not so secretly hate cake).

When it’s time to walk down the aisle I’ll be holding this bouquet:

When it’s reception time you know who will be my DJ and Videographer:

Walking into the reception you will be greeted with this signature drink immediately  (ice cubes will be skull and crossbones..yes they make those).

I’m pretty excited for my wedding!

Cheers!

Nothing cheers me up, makes gloomy days better than the color yellow, a piece of lemon pie and a glass of vodka lemonade. With vodka and lemon floating around in my mind  I then surmised that one should make a lemon wedding hybrid to capitalize on all the cheery goodness that lemons and weddings bring.  I quickly started planning a lemon fresh wedding day.

The invites: Well of course you need to incorporate the color yellow but the important thing is theme/style, are you vintage, modern, have no idea? I went with a mix of vintage/modern:This invited is from minted.com

Setting: Outside, nothing says fresh and clean and bright than an outdoor wedding. I don’t care what time you have it, maybe at dusk with the lightening bugs coming out, maybe a mid day wedding. Time really doesn’t matter but all the the little details do. Ohh and if you’re going to have a DJ, make sure you tell them it is an outside wedding, so they can make sure all the extension cords are with them! Same with your makeup artist, tell her you’re outside and bring extra what ever you need so while you’re getting your outside wedding photography done you’re makeup keeps up! Okay I digress…

For my lemon fresh wedding day I’ll need an actual lemonade stand serving of course the signature drink of the day…vodka lemonade in a mason jar with a vintage looking stir stick.

vodka lemonade with mint

For my table centerpieces I wanted to have slices of actual lemons in the vases, with white and yellow flowers, and I liked the mixed up look of mason jars with actual vases, but very simple flowers like tulips.

Tulips are my most favorite flower, they are so delicate and completely make no sense, you have to plant them in the fall and they come up while it’s still cold outside they are our first pops of color.I love them.  I went looking for a wedding bouquet that incorporate tulips. The bouquet I found is a mix of yellow Rancunculas, buttery Lisianthus and cream colored Tulips…perfect!

Cake!! Can’t have a wedding or a happy day without cake, I went for vintage simple..what really made me pick this cake was the cake stand, I’m a sucker for an old school cake stand. I could start a collection of them if I didn’t feel that it would put me in the same category as a “the cat lady”

Martha Stewart Weddings

Along with the sweet treats I thought a throw back to the old candy shops would look really awesome set up outside, you don’t have to have super sweet candy but it certainly sets up the cheery, vintage day and is a great wedding take away, have cute little paper bags printed with your initials and some twine to tie the bags BAM! you get decor and the little wedding gift trinket!

The only thing I really left out was the dress, but I figured the dress is a secret anyway and really any dress will work, I did come across the bridesmaid dress I liked, it wasn’t vintage at all:

I know I said I just only left out the dress, no I know there are a million other details I did leave out but these are the main parts that honestly are the most fun part of all weddings! Other than sampling all the signature drinks you can concot

Cheers
