I have no idea why I called seating charts the ugly step child of wedding planning, maybe because it can be one of the most grueling tasks a bride has to do. You end up having conversations like: “Where are we putting Sally?  No one likes her…why’d we have to invite her again? Oh yeah, she’s your aunt, $h!t.”   Many brides and grooms opt out of seating charts, and I can’t really blame them; if you can avoid it I’d truly consider never making one. That is why I really had no intention of writing about seating charts, but I was asked to go “a-hunting” by a great Facebook Fan named Kristin, who wants some creative ideas.  So here are 10 images (which are not my own) that proved seating charts could be fun and creative!

1.This one is crazy colorful, and I really don’t understand the naming of the tables, but anyone could do this, and maybe name the tables according to your theme…like movies, or candy, flowers etc

2. This one is just too cute, with the play on words, the time pieces.

3. A seating chart with a reward waiting for you is a seating chart after my own heart!

4. Symbols…it’s like symbolism man.

5. Vintage..by now you should all know how I feel about vintage..keys, sheets of music, script and old wood..God I love it.

6. This just cracks me up…this would be my easy way out.

8. This is so awesome..I would have never thought to do a seating chart on a window pane.

9. I honestly have no idea how this works, but I thought it was a cool seating chart.

10. How do you go wrong with cork table markers? Seating chart can be wine names…

I might get in trouble posting this, I may get a lot of people not agreeing with me, so be it.  I was asked a simple question today by a co-worker:  ”What’s the groom’s role in the wedding?” I was only half paying attention to him because I was too busy pinning on Pinterest (need an invite? I’ll hook you up) and I flippantly said: “Show up.”   I then stopped pinning and looked up at my male co-worker, his mouth was open and a shear look of confusion past over his face, “Really? You really think that’s his role?”

On further examination of my response I most definitely think that is the groom’s role. I’ve been married, I was the bride that didn’t care what my wedding seating chart was, I was not that little girl who had her big day planned by the time she was twelve, so in my first wedding I honestly wanted his opinion.  I really wanted him to feel included, so I of course included him. We had an argument over china patterns, like a full blown argument in the middle of a really “fancy” store. I almost died, it was an out of body experience for me, I couldn’t believe that this man, the man I was marrying was literally fighting with me over china patterns. Why does he care? Seriously why the hell does he have an actual opinion on this? Well duh, it’s because I asked him too! I asked him to come along with me and give it the old college try and be a part of a team. On closer introspection, what I really wanted was for him to do was pretend he cared and let me do it. Even though I didn’t care I really didn’t want his opinion either.

So for this go around… once I get this ring:

I want to say: “Don’t worry darling I’ve got the wedding completely planned. Please show up wearing this:

It may be heartless but I don’t care because this go around I know what I want, I have 20 Pinterest boards dedicated to what I think I might want. And whenever “Smolder Pony” (inside joke, will explain in a future posts) decides to ask me I’ll be ready to to say yes and ask him to leave me alone while I’ll plan everything.  Before you get your garters in a bunch, being the best-engaged-to-be-engaged girl I know I will certainly add tidbits of what he likes to my planning, I’m not completely heartless after all.

I want to start off by saying none of these images are mine…I told you from the beginning I’m a hunter/gather (my new paleo diet is affecting my analogies) type of blogger. I find it and share/eat it. With that being said…let’s take a looksey on what my PUNK ROCK WEDDING would look like!

It starts off with him…he obviously has to propose to me, knowing me so well and how at the time of this blog post, knows I’m completely a rocker chick now, so he gives me a stunningly unique ring that looks much like this:

From there I give him an engagement ring because we’re a progressive couple, why should I be the only one that wears a ring?

We’re super excited, and I work diligently on figuring out how I want the wedding invites to look which end up spectacular and really capture what I’m trying to go for:

And my bridesmaids dress..oh there are  two pictures because the back is to die for…I will get the pinks to match!

Okay now it’s time to pick the cake design and of course I’ll need some cookies because I secretly (or not so secretly hate cake).

When it’s reception time you know who will be my DJ and Videographer:

Walking into the reception you will be greeted with this signature drink immediately  (ice cubes will be skull and crossbones..yes they make those).
