IT”S LEAP DAY!!!  OMG quick grab your boyfriend, grab someone, anyone and shake the sh!t out of them while screaming in their face “It’s LEAP DAY MARRY ME!!” Hey why not?  It’s Leap Day and that’s the kind of wild and ridiculous thing you should  do on a day that only happens once every four years;I know for a fact we do much stupider things on St.Patrick’s Day, hell  you’ve probably proposed to many strangers on St. Patrick’s Day, why not do it to someone you actually know?

I know I know girls aren’t supposed to propose, aren’t supposed to make the first move, buy a drink, maybe buy dinner or walk across the room and speak to a guy first.  But if you think about it we were never supposed to be able to read, write, vote or even articulate a thought but I’m pretty sure we’ve moved past those “not supposed-to’s” so why not this one?

Need inspiration to make this bold declaration?  I don’t know any famous people but I know someone….my mom.  They were in church (not on leap day) and she being the empowered 19 year old woman of 1965 turned to my future father(30) and said, “We should get married, let’s get married” and by golly they did, this March will mark their 46th wedding anniversary.

Can’t get around the hopelessly romantically gender specific relationship roles? That’s fine because honestly it’s a  bold move by anyone’s standard, and we can’t all be as ballsy as my mom, so why not at least confess that you “like-like” someone today? It’s hard to do for sure but chances are feelings will be reciprocated and there you go getting an extra dose of happiness, (I say “dose of happiness” because you’re already happy, you don’t need someone to make you happy..but getting a dose of it is always a great thing).

So if we can take anything from Leap Day it’s that chances in life and love don’t come around often and sometimes aren’t even as frequent as every four years. So go and grab love by its little leap ‘ears and give yourself an extra dose of happiness.

I get so excited when brides want to share their wedding with me. I love seeing all the different ways a wedding can come together.  So when I posted a Facebook status asking brides to share their wedding day with me and Complete Music Video Photo’s newsletter and Candice Combs responded with a whole bunch of photos I couldn’t help but let out a squeal of excitement!

Candice and her now husband  Daniel Walker were married at Amber Springs in Montgomery, TX on January 6, 2012. Candice told me her wedding was very heavily a do-it-yourself wedding, and it is apparent that Candice is a really great DIY-er!

This is Candice and Daniel:

Their  reception hall, I love the lighting and all the wood work! Their colors were moss green and chocolate brown. I love it!

Candice made her own brooch bouquet she found all the brooches online and then put the bouquet together like a normal flower bouquet. Candice also told me that: ” It also saved me a lot of worry and hassle by not having to deal with real flowers.”

Her centerpieces…went well with her venue’s wood working and colors!

Moss covered letters!Oh yeah she made them herself!

And this is how her guests had to sign in….the FBI may come borrow this from them sometime! Thumbprint trees have really become a great new trend and such an awesome keepsake.

Instead of flowers, Candice made pomanders, and I love the bright look on the white chairs!

Their wedding date! Love this, they can have this in their home after the wedding as well!

Earthy tones, and woodland centerpieces made it a perfect not-so-winter, winter wedding that I really wish I could of attended. At least Complete Music was there as their DJ! (I may have to pick up a side job).

Thank you to Candice and Daniel for sharing their amazing wedding with me and everyone else!  Bride on the Rocks and Complete Music Video Photo wish you many years of happiness. And thank you to their photographer: Endless Exposures Photography who did all the photos you see in this post!

In between mass gambling, drinking, late nights, early morning sessions in intellectual superiority I will be fitting in WEDDING SHOPPING! I mean it’s Vegas, the marriage capital of the United States, and I plan to make full use of it. My goal is to find dresses like this:

Ian Stuart bridal gown

But only cost like they look like this:

I’m a champagne taste beer budget girl, so stay tuned for a vast array of Instagram shots from Vegas with all the latest wedding fun, trends, styles I can find while one-eyeing my iPhone. I’m boarding the plane as I post this…sooooo

Cheers,
